Spectrum Acquisition Sees Nextel As Serious Challenger

Push-to-talk (PTT) operator Nextel acquired the bulk of licences designated Band H in a spectrum auction. The news came as no surprise as existing operators were prevented from participating and Nextel has been expanding in its other Latin American markets. BMI welcomes the news that Nextel will increasingly participate in the mobile market and boost competition.
