Operators Unlikely To See Improvements While Economy Weak

Economic woes in Romania do not bode well for mobile operators continuing to experience declining ARPUs, which have been falling for some time. The global financial crisis and country specific economic woes cannot be the only source of dropping ARPUs. However, in BMI's opinion, efforts by operators to encourage greater spending through increasing mobile content and value-added services will be hampered by continuing economic difficulties as customers increasingly tighten their belts.
