Osiptel Warns 1mn Mobile Subscribers Could Be Disconnected

Osiptel, the Peruvian telecoms regulator, warned that as many as 1mn mobile subscriptions risk being cut off as users have yet to register their details with the country's three mobile network operators. The majority are with market leader Movistar and its market share could drop substantially if it is forced to deactivate these unused accounts. However, as the connections in question are prepaid, BMI expects Movistar would quickly regain any ground it does lose.
