ZTE Handset Sales Raise Prospects
September 2010 | Company News AlertChinese telecoms equipment vendor ZTE announced it shipped 28mn handsets globally in H110, an increase of 40% year-on-year (y-o-y). The company attributed the significant growth to increasing demand for mobile handsets - especially smartphones - in international and domestic markets. Given ZTE's close ties with operators worldwide and the weakening of some global brands such as Nokia and Motorola, BMI thinks that Chinese equipment companies ZTE and Huawei could assert their presence in the global mobile handset industry.
