Changing Broadband Environment Forces Foxtel To Adapt

Australian pay-TV operator Foxtel has withdrawn plans to supply video content exclusively via the BigPond broadband network of the incumbent telecommunications operator, Telstra. Although rival operators active in both the broadband and pay-TV camps have welcomed the decision, saying that the original plan was anti-competitive, BMI believes the companies are repositioning themselves to take better advantage of the new competitive environment emerging in Australia.
