Expectations And Challenges Facing New NCC Board

The newly constituted board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) began work on August 2 2010. Led by Eugene Ikemefuna Juwah as executive vice chairman and CEO, the board is expected to oversee telecoms regulation in Nigeria for the next five years. While the general consensus from industry experts is that the pedigree of the new board members fully qualifies them for the role, BMI notes that balancing the range of expectations on the regulator from key stakeholders in the Nigerian telecoms industry will not be easy.
