LTE Launched In Tashkent

Uzbekistan has become the third country in the world to have a commercially deployed LTE network, according to online reports. Services are now being offered by market-leading mobile operator Uzdunrobita, which is owned by Russia's MTS, in a limited area in the centre of the capital, Tashkent. This means that MTS has beaten TeliaSonera-owned UCell to this landmark launch, something that BMI thinks may have more to do with status and one-upmanship than winning subscribers.
