Market Maturity Calls For Number Portability
July 2010 | Regulatory DevelopmentNumber portability (NP) is at the top of the regulatory agendas in Argentina and El Salvador, two of Latin America's most developed telecoms markets. The service was first introduced in the region in Mexico in July 2008 and has gradually filtered into other markets. However, conditions are not the same in all countries, meaning NP has a different part to play in each market. NP rarely brings about growth and is therefore most suited to more mature markets.
