SK Telecom, PT Telkom Partner For Regional Digital Content Hub

South Korean mobile network operator SK Telecom (SKT) is teaming with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT Telkom), the incumbent fixed and mobile network operator in Indonesia, to create a joint digital content exchange hub (DCEH) that will, initially at least, be concentrated on serving Indonesian broadband users. BMI believes that, by targeting a market with a relatively youthful and IT-aware population of around 240mn and steadily rising GDP, the lessons learned from the partnership will stand SKT, at least, in good stead for its planned expansion into Asia's value-added services market.
