Orange Shows Renewed Interest In IPTV

Excitement is slowly starting to build around IPTV in the UK. Following the full unveiling of the Project Canvas initiative, Orange, which is still one of the major broadband players in the UK despite its ever-decreasing market share, is looking to revive its plans to offer a TV-over-broadband service. Orange is not currently part of Project Canvas, although presumably it will now be looking to get involved. Although BMI sees potentially good prospects for IPTV in the UK, we remain reluctant to endorse Project Canvas's ambitious growth forecasts, and continue to wonder about the practicalities of such a wide reaching project.
