Indosat Wants To Be More Mobile

Indonesian mobile and fixed-wireless operator Indosat says it will not roll out its WiMAX service unless the regulator allows it to offer mobile WiMAX using 802.16e technology, which can be used for both fixed and mobile services. Holders of Indonesian WiMAX licences are currently only allowed to use 802.16d technology, which is only for fixed services and is, operators are arguing, unsuitable for Indonesia's terrain.
