Would Hondutel Benefit From Strategic Investor?

Honduran incumbent Hondutel has sent a proposal to the National Congress aimed at turning around ailing business. The Telecommunications Strengthening Law (Ley de Fortalecimiento de las Telecomunicaciones) includes plans to improve the company's financial and operational situation, which has been described as 'agonising' by new Hondutel president General Romeo Vásquez Velásquez. With competition from Digicel, Millicom International Cellular and América Móvil, Hondutel has a fight on its hands to improve its position in the country's telecoms market.
