Italy To Push For Broadband Services In Rural Areas

In an effort to bridge the digital divide, the Ministry of Economic Development (MdSE) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Union of Italian Provinces (UPI) on the development of a national broadband plan. BMI welcomes the government's interest in expanding the reach of broadband services, but suggests that faster deployment of WiMAX networks across the country may be more cost-effective.
