SingTel Targets Asia And MEA Purchases For Growth

Better than expected quarterly growth has been reported by pan-Asian operator Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel), lifted by strong performances in Indonesia as well as at home. In the quarter ended December 31 2009, group revenues grew by 20% year-on-year (y-o-y) to SGD4.45bn, while EBITDA rose by 17% to SGD1.23bn and net profit increased by 24% to SGD991mn. The company's global mobile subscriber base grew by 22.5% to 285mn.
