Increased Handset Market Share For Samsung As Nokia Falters
February 2010 | Company News AlertSouth Korea-based handset manufacturers Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics were among the few vendors that grew their overall shares of the global handset market in Q409, in stark contrast to declining market shares recorded by industry leader Nokia and other key players. BMI believes that the 69mn devices shipped by Samsung in Q409 accounted for approximately 20.7% of the global market, up from less than 17% a year earlier. We believe that the company could well reach 25% of the market by the end of 2010 or by mid-2011.
