EC Opens Infringement Proceedings Against France
January 2010 | Industry NewsThe European Commission (EC) has opened an infringement procedure against France relating to a 'telecoms tax' on telecommunications operators. The telecoms tax was introduced in March 2009 to counter the end of advertising on public TV channels. The French government has two months to respond to the EC before the infringement proceedings are dropped or taken to the next stage.
