Bangladesh Moves To Curb Unlicensed VoIP Services

The government of Bangladesh has agreed in principle to amend the regulations governing the provision of VoIP services via international connections in a bid to tackle the rise of unlicensed service providers and divert 'grey revenues' from such operations back into state coffers. By legalising the provision of VoIP via international long-distance (ILD) facilities, it is hoped that the 100 or so unlicensed VoIP service providers will formally enter the market in pursuit of greater international access.
