Vietnam Reached 111mn Mobile Subscribers In 2009

Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) reports that the country's mobile network operators were serving approximately 110.8mn subscribers at the end of 2009. This represented 85% of the nation's 130.4mn telephone subscribers and was a 56% increase from the 69.1mn mobile subscribers at the end of 2008. State-owned Viettel accounted for the lion's share of the market in 2009, with 42.5mn subscribers, said the MIC.
