High Interest In Mexico Mobile Licence Tender

Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Commission (Cofetel) has received more than 90 requests for the tender documentation for the upcoming auction of wireless spectrum in the 1,850-1,990MHz and 1,710-2,170MHz frequency ranges. The documentation was available for three days from January 6 2010. The large number of parties buying this information confirms BMI's expectations that the Mexican market could soon benefit from the increased competition that one or more new entrants would bring.
