Cambodian ISPs Against Centralisation Plans
January 2010 | Industry Trends And DevelopmentsA number of privately owned Cambodian ISPs have voiced their concerns about reported plans by the government to centralise the country's internet infrastructure under the control of state-owned incumbent Telecom Cambodia. The independent ISPs believe that the national internet platform should offer neutral links in order to ensure the free exchange of information online. As Telecom Cambodia also operates as an ISP, its ability to offer unfettered internet access would be questionable.
