Huawei: Defies Economic Slowdown And Simultaneously Steps Up Presence In Western EuropeIn 2008, Huawei reported global sales that exceeded US$23.3bn. These were up by over 46% y-o-y from around US$16bn in 2007. A major part of the total sales figure published by Huawei is based on contract sales; these represent the total value of all the contracts signed during the calendar year and are not the same as revenues. Huawei's actual revenues in 2008 amounted to US$18.329bn. This was equivalent to almost 79% of the vendor's contract sales. This means that Huawei's actual sales grew by nearly 43% in 2008, rising from US$12.84bn in 2007.
