France Télécom Still Looking For Expansion

December 2009 | Company News Alert

France Télécom (FT)is expecting to expand further in the Middle East and Africa during 2010, according to a report in Total Telecom. BMI remembers a similar statement from the company at the end of last year, as FT was looking to expand further into anglophone Africa. During 2009 FT has launched services in Uganda, although this investment was already partially made in 2008, and it has also been working to consolidate its position in Kenya. Apart from that, the company's advances in English-speaking Africa have not been great. Thus, BMI is not expecting many major shocks from the operator in 2010.
