Acer Ramps Up Android Phone Range, Launches In Taiwan

Taiwan-based Acer Inc is looking to compete aggressively in the smartphone marketplace with as many as eight new devices that will be based on the increasingly popular Android operating system (OS). One of the first of these is the Acer Liquid, a touchscreen phone that is aimed at the mid-end of the market. The Acer Liquid was launched in the UK in November and has now gone on sale in Taiwan via mobile network operator Far EasTone.
