LTE Future For Latin America Still Some Way Off

Long-term evolution (LTE) is being hailed as the next step in telecoms development despite no commercial launch having taken place yet. Telecoms operators across the world are looking to the new platform as the next stage of growth. As Ricardo Silva, Nokia Siemens Networks' (NSN) head of strategic marketing for Latin America, asserts, the potential lies in USB modems and mobile broadband in the Latin American market. While BMI would largely agree with this, we have some reservations over the speed at which LTE will be rolled out into Latin American markets.
