Operators To Notify Regulator Of Price Changes
September 2009 | Regulatory DevelopmentKenya's telecoms service providers are protesting at the short amount of time they have been given to respond to regulatory changes, reports Business Daily. The Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) has presented a set of reforms that will make very significant changes to the procedure for changing tariffs in the Kenyan market. The proposals, in the context of global trends in telecoms regulation, are not revolutionary, but the service providers, all of whom they will affect, have been given only seven days to respond to the proposal, whereas in the past they have had typically two months to review new regulations and provide a response before they are put in place.
