Low Tariff Row Continues

The row over tariffs in Cambodia continues. The fight erupted over Russian-owned Beeline's low-cost 'Boom' tariff plan, which offered calls at US$0.05 a minute. Rival operators accused them of selling at a loss in order to gain new customers, and the government advised the operator to raise its tariff. What Beeline did was to withdraw the tariff for new customers, but kept it for those who had already signed up. Now rival operator Mobitel has claimed that a deal had been reached whereby the US$0.05 a minute deal would be removed altogether and that Beeline has reneged on that deal. What will eventually happen is hard to say.
