Renewed Pressure For Interconnection Cut

There is now fresh pressure on the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) to act on mobile interconnection fees, reports AllAfrica. A new legal paper has been issued that challenges ICASA's earlier position that it was prevented from making any ruling about cutting interconnections fees without extensive market research to determine which, if any, of South Africa's mobile operators holds significant market power (SMP).
