Safaricom Acquires Second WiMAX Operator

Kenya's dominant mobile operator, Safaricom, has wholly acquired local WiMAX operator Packet Stream Data Networks for an undisclosed amount. The purchase is central to Safaricom's ongoing efforts to boost its share of the data segment in order to counter the impact of an increasingly saturated voice market.
