TOT's 2009 Revenues To Receive Broadband Boost

Thailand's state-owned telecoms operator, TOT Corp, delivered a net profit of THB3.6bn (US$106mn) in the six months ended June 2009. This was an 80% increase year-on-year (y-o-y), led by the company's cost-cutting exercise. Operating revenues, however, suffered a 4.5% y-o-y fall, to THB13bn (US$383mn), as revenues from TOT's concession agreements with AIS, True Group and Thai Mobile all declined on the back of a competitive local market and slowing economy.
