Peru To See Rural Broadband Expansion
March 2009 | Company News AlertFixed-line incumbent Telefónica del Perú (TdP) has been awarded the BAS (Banda Ancha para las Localidades Aisladas) project to provide broadband services to isolated regions in the country. The project is to see an investment of PEN139mn from the telecommunications investment fund Fitel, and is expected to be complete by the end of 2011. By this date all district capitals are to have access to internet services as well as fixed-line and public telephony infrastructure.
