Libya's Telecoms Market Opening Up?

There are numerous reports in the international media that Libya's telecoms regulator has launched an auction for a new national telecoms operator licence for both fixed-line and mobile services. A spokesman for the regulator is reported to have said that it will be open for bids until May 13 2009, and that the decision to open the auction came from a desire to 'stimulate the telecommunications market', writes MEED.
