Windows Live To Reach Across Latin America

Latin America's two largest telecoms operators, Mexico's América Móvil and Spain's Telefónica, have reached agreements with Microsoft to extend the latter's Windows Live mobile suite across their operations. América Móvil, the region's leading mobile operator, ended 2008 with over 171.5mn mobile subscribers across its 16 operations (excluding the US). Telefónica had 118.3mn mobile subscribers among its 153.1mn connections in Latin America in Q308, helping Microsoft to gain access to around 290mn of Latin America's 436mn estimated total mobile subscribers on top of agreements it has with smaller operators in the region.
