Brasil Telecom Opens Subsidiary In Colombia

Brazilian telecoms operator, Brasil Telecom, has announced that it will open a subsidiary in Colombia. The new unit will be part of GlobeNet, owned by Brasil Telecom, which operates undersea fibre-optic network cables in Brazil, Venezuela, Bermuda and the US. Brasil Telecom's new unit in Colombia will offer telecoms infrastructure for operators and service providers. With operations in a number of countries in the Americas, Colombia is a 'natural expansion' of GlobeNet's existing operations, the company said in a statement.
