Ericsson To Build FTTH Network

Ericsson is to supply and build a new fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network in Nigeria. The telecoms vendor has signed a contract with Nigerian company 21st Century Technologies, which has until now concentrated on supplying broadband and data services to the corporate community, but is setting its sites on the residential market. The project has been described in press releases as nationwide, but will begin with deployment to 10,000 homes in January 2009.
