Zain Launches In Ghana

Zain, the Kuwait-based international mobile operator, has launched its network in Ghana. Zain is the fifth mobile operator to launch a commercial service in Ghana, and is also the first to launch 3G services. Having invested US$420mn to date in a rapid network rollout, Zain is offering services first in the capital, Accra. Ghana will also be added to Zain's 'One Network' service, which allows Zain customers to roam for free across other Zain networks, paying only local call charges, and recharging prepaid accounts, which make up the bulk of Zain's international subscriber base, with local currency recharge vouchers.
