AIS Launches 3G Services In Bangkok

AIS, Thailand's leading mobile operator, has become the first in the country to offer 3G services over an HSPA network in the capital of Bangkok. The operator began testing its 3G network in the northern province of Chiang Mai in May 2008 before its decision to commercially offer the service, which is expected to reach a third province, Chon Buri in early 2009. AIS customers using the service are being offered wireless high-speed internet and can download multimedia data speeds some 30 times faster than the existing network.
