Emcali Sees IPTV Potential

Municipal utilities operator Emcali is expecting to reach 13,000 IPTV subscribers once it launches the service in Colombia's third largest city, Cali. The fixed-line and broadband supplier has applied to the broadcasting regulator, CNTV, to acquire a licence that would allow it to offer pay-TV services over an IPTV platform. This would allow Emcali to offer triple-play services to the market, which is a key part of the company's strategy to counter falling fixed-line revenues.
