Acquisitions Look Good In The Long Run

Following the approval of its Telemig Celular acquisition, Brazilian mobile market leader Vivo's consolidated net profit increased by 205% year-on-year (y-o-y) to BRL130mn (US$58.5mn) in Q308. The results were announced shortly after mobile rival Oi reported a 68.5% y-o-y increase in its profits, to BRL155mn for the same period.
