DTAC Plans To Postpone 3G Roll Out
October 2008 | Company News AlertThailand's second largest mobile operator by market share, DTAC, has announced that it is to postpone the commercial launch of 3G services. The operator had intended to launch 3G UMTS services in the first quarter of 2009 with the intention of rolling them out nationwide by the middle of the year and had earmarked an investment budget of US$150mn. DTAC's CEO Tore Johnsen believes DTAC should be prudent given the current global financial crisis and to wait and see what demand is like for 3G services.
