Alfa And Ericsson Agree On Network Upgrade

Alfa, one of Lebanon's two mobile network operators, has signed a letter of understanding with equipment vendor Ericsson to begin an upgrade of its core network, much of which dates back to the launch of the network in 1994. The planned replacement of the obsolete network systems with newer technologies should greatly increase network quality and expand capacity on the Alfa network to 1mn subscribers.
