Broadband Results Surprise In Germany
August 2008 | Company Finance Alertwo of Germany's major alternative broadband operators have announced their results for Q208. United Internet, the biggest rival to market leader Deutsche Telekom, saw a 14.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in sales in the quarter to EUR412.4mn, while fifth-ranked Versatel recorded a 29.1% y-o-y increase to EUR211mn. Versatel's financial performance in Q208 is more remarkable as it recorded quarterly profit for the first time in six quarters.
