Mobitel To Launch Mobile TV, But IPTV On Hold
August 2008 | Company News AlertMobitel, the mobile operating unit of incumbent Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), has been awarded a mobile television broadcasting licence by the Ministry of Mass Media and Information. The licence will enable the operator to transmit national domestic and international TV content over a 3.5G HSPA network, which it launched in December 2007 under the M3 brand. Currently, Mobitel has been advertising the new M3 mobile TV channel as an alternative to regular terrestrial TV viewing at home.
