Paraguay To Welcome Private Investment For Telecoms

Paraguay's new president, Fernando Lugo who is set to be inaugurated on August 15, is open to the idea of private investment in the country's state-owned companies according to the future Ministro de Hacienda (Minister of Finance) Dionisio Borda. Lugo, a former catholic bishop, was elected in May 2008 on a promise of land reform and a social emergency plan for one of South America's poorest countries.
