Brasil Telecom Expands IPTV

August 2008 | Company News Alert

Brazilian fixed-line operator, Brasil Telecom, is in the process of expanding its IPTV services beyond the capital, Brasília, into nine additional states. The company launched its IPTV service in October 2007, becoming the first operator to offer the service in Brazil. It decided to launch Videon, the IPTV brand, in the capital as a test market to measure subscribers' reactions to the service. By the look of it, the service has been sufficiently successful for Brasil Telecom to deploy it in another nine states.
