Maxcom Sees Successful MVNO Operations

Mexico's sole mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), Maxcom, has stated that it expects to have 45,000 mobile subscribers by the end of July 2008. The operator made the announcement with its Q208 results, and confirmed that it would invest US$250mn in 2008-2009. Its revenues increased by 15.6% year-on-year in Q208, to MXN699mn (US$65mn). Maxcom is one of a number of alternative fixed-line operators in Mexico, competing with incumbent Telmex. It operates in both the residential and corporate sectors.
