Italian WiMAX Launch Sees Taiwan Partnership
July 2008 | Contract NewsNewport Digital Technologies (NDT) has announced that it will deploy a WiMAX network in northern Italy for an undisclosed Italian telecoms operator. The company, a subsidiary of International Food Products Group, has reached an agreement to deploy the network in partnership with the Institute for Information Industry Taiwan (III) and Gil Technologies. The Italian regulator auctioned regional and national WiMAX licences in February 2008, and several new operators were licensed to offer the services.
