Italian Operators Cooperate For High-speed Broadband
June 2008 | Company News AlertItaly's largest broadband operators, incumbent Telecom Italia and alternative provider Fastweb, have announced an agreement to co-operate on building a next generation network (NGN). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by both companies as they confirmed that several, but not all, legal disputes between them had been settled. The NGN will see Telecom Italia and Fastweb sharing parts of each other's existing networks, as well as building out the new network faster and cheaper than would have been possible individually.
