Wataniya Plans End-2008 Palestine Mobile Launch

Wataniya Telecom of Kuwait has said that it has been informed that it will be awarded the radio spectrum it needs to launch its Palestinian mobile phone network before the end of 2008. The company has already been awarded 2.4MHz of spectrum and an additional similarly sized package of frequencies will be awarded later this year. Wataniya claims that the frequencies will enable it to serve 1mn customers.
