Samart Looks To Bid For WiMAX Licence
May 2008 | Company News AlertThai handset manufacturer and content provider Samart Corporation has announced its intention to acquire a commercial mobile WiMAX licence, once licensing procedures and regulations have been finalised by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). The company has already begun WiMAX trials in partnership with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). A licence application will made be through Samart's subsidiary, Samart Telecoms, and the company intends to invest at least THB100mn (US$3mn) in launching the network.
