Orange Wins Slovakian Wireless Frequencies
April 2008 | Company News AlertOrange Slovakia has been declared the winning bidder in a tender for new mobile frequencies. The company submitted a bid of EUR1.3bn for the spectrum, which it will use to augment its existing 2G/3G offering with enhanced mobile broadband and high-speed data services. The company beat off two other bidders for the 870MHz spectrum: rival Telefónica O2 Slovakia and Irish Logic Systems. It will have the right to use the frequencies for a period of 20 years.
